Sobre Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage
Solución de copia de seguridad del servidor que permite a empresas de todos los tamaños restaurar y proteger automáticamente los datos comerciales a través de correos electrónicos y más.
I also utilized customer service and they were so helpful.
The one time I needed the software to actually work for a backup it failed. It was not able to retain my existing backup when I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my desktop.

I have used Backblaze for over two years and I am VERY happy with it.
Comentarios: I am just plain happy. My intention is to renew again and again my yearly subscription with them. The reason I started using this software is that The New York Times uses it as well. If they use it, the software must be fantastic!
Puntos a favor:
Ease of use. Security. Peace of mind. Everything works in the background. I don't even need to update the software because it does it automatically.
Contras:
I cannot think of anything. They send a regular newsletter, and many of the articles they send are too tricky for me to understand. Maybe if they wrote some of those articles in a more user-friendly language for people like me who are ignorant about IT.

Does it's thing, invisibly.
Comentarios: For me Backblaze is primarily disaster recovery protection. If my MacBook is lost/stolen/corrupted I know I can get everything back using backblaze. It works well on windows or mac, and allows me to exclude certain folders or file types I don't want backed up which reduces the size of the backup. After the initial backup, incremental backups work well and mean there's not a massive bandwidth requirement. All in, great software that has your back!
Puntos a favor:
The power of backblaze for personal backup is that it doesn't get in your way. It just sits there in the tray, but it accurately detects file changes and backs these up to the cloud. I have used the recovery process before and it works well.
Contras:
It's not the cheapest, but it does do what it should.
Backblaze let me down
Comentarios: Disappointing.
Puntos a favor:
Used them successfully for many years. Then suddenly, they stopped backing up my external HD on my mac for an undetermined amount of time. After discovering this potentially catastrophic situation, I contacted customer support which finally told me that BB couldn't backup a mac external HD with Time Machine. What? But it did in previous years? why wasn't I alerted my backup was essentially backing up ONLY my desktop, which has almost no files? Wasted money. Worse, it could have cost me my business.
Contras:
Unreliable and their customer service seemed clueless.

Relaible Cloud Storage at a fraction of a cost ..
Comentarios: I am very much satisfy with the B2 and their support (support team is very prompt as well as knowledgeable) .
Puntos a favor:
Low cost (Because of their fair uses policy as well as no minimum storage commitment) . Easily configurable with most of the industry leading backup software. Newly added S3 support. Object locking makes it impossible to delete the backup before the retention period.
Contras:
No IAM based bucket distribution like AWS.

Backblaze Back Up for Nonprofit
Comentarios: The biggest problem Backblaze solved was that when we had previously used another company for backing up files (which was a more cloud based system) we lost files when a staff member deleted files thinking our main account was linked to them. When in fact the files were lost because they were the original author. This was a huge loss of time having to rewrite manuals and operating documents. Now when we have a staff member leave we have them condense their files and transfer it to my computer as the Operations Director and I can make sure they are backed up and as needed given to new staff when the time comes. The other benefit is everything runs in the background automatically. Gone are the days when we would plug in a harddrive for back up and were lucky to remember to do it once a month.
Puntos a favor:
First of all you just can't beat their price for this type of automatic back up system. Most platforms I had researched either had size limits or cost much more. For a small non-profit we were so happy (and able to sleep better at night) knowing if our computer crashed we would be safe and able to keep going.
Contras:
We have had a slight issue w/ backing up our harddrive because we travel to different venues and use that same harddrive for our video footage. We just have to set really good reminders so we don't forget to plug it back in.
Great, cost-effective option for remote backup
Comentarios: I've been using BackBlaze for over 2 years and haven't had any issues with the software, it does a great job notifying me when an employee's machine hasn't been backed up and does a good job of well, backing things up.
Puntos a favor:
Business licensing allowed me to purchase all the licenses my team needed. The simple invite method works great. This is one of those things you should have but hope you never need
Contras:
Migrating computers really isn't a thing with Backblaze. It'd be nice to have a migrate options available.

Best value
Comentarios: From my experience, Backblaze delivers what they promise without any hassles. So, that makes me happy.
Puntos a favor:
I found Backblaze had by far the best pricing structure for data backup. I use their bucket system for my customers and haven't had any problems.
Contras:
I think they still need some additional tools for downloading and interacting with the data but I believe they are always working to make the product better.
Alternativas consideradas:
Just go with Backblaze
Comentarios: I love Backblaze. They offer exceptional products for way below the competitions pricing.
Puntos a favor:
I use their B2 backup on my NAS. I needed something that was affordable but also reliable. B2 checked those boxes for my business
Contras:
I don’t have any cons for this product.
Best Backup on the Market for Business
Comentarios: For our small business, the software was a huge success and came in handy when one of our back drives went bad. Setup on our server and workstations was seamless and easy to manage from any device.
Puntos a favor:
The best part of this software is how easy it is to configure and setup. A few simple clicks, a private key for encryption, and it runs quietly in the background when connected to the internet uploading data as specified in your options. Cost for the amount of storage is lower than most providers without having to rely on cold storage options.
Contras:
Backblaze relies on the computer state for backups, and doesn't give a huge number of options for data recovery. If you lose a file, you need to make sure to restore it before the next backup kicks in and removes the file for good. Software does not run on network drives or NAS very easily. NAS sometimes has software to integrate, but usually not a dual direction backup. Upload was pretty slow. We are on 400/400 fiber and the 600GB upload took almost 3 days.

Hey Christopher- Thanks for leaving the review! Just a quick note- Our Computer Backup software is one not intended to run on network drives or NAS devices, we have B2 Cloud Storage for those use cases. Why? Our Computer Backup service is one of the few remaining unlimited services around. By being truly unlimited, we had to draw some lines around what backing up a `computer¿ means (within the context of unlimited). So that might explain some of their haplenges you had backing up your NAS. But checkout B2! It¿s $0.05 /GB/month (1/4 of the price of S3). And is integrated into most NAS devices already. You can find more information at https://www.backblaze.com/b2/solutions/backup-and-archive.html Cheers! Ahin from Backblaze
My review of Backblaze
Comentarios: Experience has been smooth and works as described. Company has surpassed expectations. Highly recommend.
Puntos a favor:
Started with a free trial and was instantly converted into a paying customer when I realized how easy it is to use and how fairly priced it is. Pros- Cost - $130 for a 2 year plan Unlimited storage - peace of mind storage will never run out Easy to use software - Installed one piece of software and within 3-4 clicks, it started backing up and worked in the background while I continued to use my system Backup internals - it continuously backs up every couple of minutes/hours once it spots changes Speed of backup - large backups finish quickly Lots of security options - 2FA authentication, private key encryption - for that extra level of security
Contras:
It does not allow the backing up of applications and system files. In other words, you cannot make a bootable image of your system. If this was available, Backblaze would be perfect.
The best tools to create a secure backup system at the lowest costs
Comentarios: Backing up on the cloud is very important, and Backblaze enables us to control our backups from one place, and provides us with the required layers of protection for our data. We now have an integrated archive of all our files, and we can search it and access the data we need, as well as access and retrieve it with ease.
Puntos a favor:
With Backblaze, I find great confidence that all the files and various data I work on are safely backed up to the cloud, and the encryption that Backblaze uses to authenticate system access and data recovery is something I greatly appreciate. Sync with Backblaze is excellent and we can keep multiple archives working with cloud backups at the same time, and we can schedule backup times with ease. I very much appreciate the notices and reports that document backup operations, as well as when an error occurs, which makes us fully prepared when any problem occurs with copying operations, and we can then call the support team, which I find very responsive, and we can always find appropriate solutions to problems.
Contras:
There are no features that I do not like about Backblaze, as I find it has a simple user interface, and all the tools are clear and easy to use, in addition to that it integrates with all applications very efficiently. My only concern with Backblaze comes from the copying speed, which I find to be variable, and also because of the notification system, where sometimes I receive a notification that the copying process failed, and when I track the process I find that it is talking and that the copying was completed successfully.
Reliable Backups that Always Run!
Comentarios: This solved the problem, where my business would not be impacted by lost data, when a disaster happens. In my case, hard drives went down a few times. I could still access them online, and later, when adding a new drive, it was very easy to restore. Bottom line? Backblaze is reliable! It's so easy to use and has saved me from losing a lot of important data. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an online backup solution.
Puntos a favor:
The best features of Backblaze are its affordability, ease of use, and... #1 is Reliability. It has saved me from losing important data on several occasions. There's a nice feature to ensure backups are live and ongoing always. Another good feature is the ability to login online and access files (if needed).
Contras:
First, it can be a bit slow to upload large files. Second, the free version only allows for one computer to be backed up. Virtual (storage could) drives are not supported. The very first backup you create can take days - But to be fair... This is a result of how much data you are including in the first backup, and how fast your internet connection is.
Great Value, but lacks robust recovery software.
Puntos a favor:
The price is unbeatable at this point for unlimited storage. Versioning is fairly robust. Speed is good.
Contras:
Many folks would see this as a Pro, but I'd prefer to specify directories to backup rather than files types or the "back up everything" approach here. All recovery must be done through the web interface by browsing backed up data and selecting files to be placed into zip containers of limited size. This is slow and clunky. When I had a major failure, I needed to back up several TB of data. I had to wait a week for delivery of a 2TB volume, and still had to select 10-20 zip packages in addition, keeping track of what had been restore and what had not. Obviously, this is a value service, but a non-web interface that allows for direct recovery over a fast connection would be superior for me.

Hey Marshall- Thanks for being a customer. As another option for fast downloads, checkout our dedicated downloader - circumvents much of slowness introduced by browsers. For Mac: https://help.backblaze.com/hc/en-us/articles/217665908-How-to-Use-the-Backblaze-Downloader-Mac- For Windows: https://www.backblaze.com/help-backblaze-downloader-win.html
Easy to use and affordable backup solution for multiple computers. Easy recovery too!
Puntos a favor:
After setting up your preferences, Backblaze runs unobtrusively in the background without any further interactions needed. The affordable pricing structure lets me use one account to back up several computers and easily access backups via the Backblaze website. Recovery is easy to do, fast, and multiple delivery options of your data are offered if you're trying to recover larger quantities than you'd prefer to download.
Contras:
There isn't an archive solution to hold even a day or twos worth of backups. Your backup is only as good as the last state of your computer, so if you accidentally delete something on your machine, you have to be sure to recover it before the next automated backup takes place.
I used this service for many years backing up data of about 2 TB
Puntos a favor:
It was easy to setup and configure the software. It ran in the background unattended. It was able to dd or remove folders quickly.
Contras:
The one time I needed the software to actually work for a backup it failed. It was not able to retain my existing backup when I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my desktop. I was told I needed to re-upload my entire data-set again.

Hey Brad - It can be quite annoying when one has to repush... although it can happen when 3rd party software impedes our "inherit backup state" feature. Please let us know if this continues to be an issue an we're happy to help troubleshoot
Great product offerings for backup and file hosting
Puntos a favor:
The desktop software is the most reliable I've run used, and sits quietly in the background rather than chewing away at resources while doing nothing. The app's interface is quite simple, and makes it easy to set external hard drives for backup or files to ignore. Regarding Backblaze B2, I host files for a website there and the price compared to AWS is very reasonable - an eighth of the price for bandwidth.
Contras:
The Web UI for restoring files is a bit clunky, but thankfully I don't have to interface with it too often :)
Set it and forget it backup
Comentarios: I've used it for years, and have no complaints.
Puntos a favor:
I like the fact that it's always working in the background; and even though i already have cloud backups and disk backups, this is my third backup which makes a truly redundant (and assurance) solution.
Contras:
Sometimes I want to quickly turn it off, i.e. I don't want backups going while I'm rendering or streaming, but it takes so many clicks to get to the on/of scheduling control panel deep inside System settings, that is annoying.
Peace of mind offsite backups
Comentarios: It provides great peace of mind knowing I have my important personal and business files backed up without any effort or thought.
Puntos a favor:
It just trudges along in the background, doing its job securely backing up the files to the cloud. I like that I can have exclusion folders (like Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud) since there's no point to back those up.
Contras:
Not so much a con per se, but I haven't actually tested any of the backups because I haven't needed to.
Serious peace of mind!
Puntos a favor:
How can you go wrong with the idea of your machine being constantly backed up. I don't even realize it's happening, but seeing the reports of your backup is heartwarming. Knowing every computer regardless of platform is backed up is fantastic.
Contras:
I can't think of anything negative to say about Backblaze. The price? Could it be cheaper? I'm sure it could, but it's very affordable.
I near forget I have it because it's so easy to run.
Comentarios: My experience had been good. I had no problem getting a pre-sales question answered. Setup only took a few minutes and I love how quietly it runs in the background. You can't beat the prices
Puntos a favor:
The software runs in the background and never nags me with popups and other notices. I get a notice each month from my credit card settings which reminds me I do have a backup and I should probably check it all being backed up everything. I'm a freelancer and handle a lot of important projects which makes this backup invaluable. The restore seems to be simple so it is a real piece of mind.
Contras:
I think if you are not a technical person and don’t want to back up your full computer then you might need help picking the folder you do want to backup. However, I believe most people want to back up the whole C drive and will have no issue setting this up.
Set and Forget Backup
Puntos a favor:
I like that once it is setup it works in the background and backs up everything. It gives me piece of mind, and it works well. I feel more confident for mine and other people's data if something should go wrong. I found it really easy to set up, and it has a bunch of options that make sense and allows me to exclude files if I need to.
Contras:
More versioning of files would be good, just to give a bit more redundancy as some files can change a lot in a short period of time.
Dead simple backup that works exactly as it should
Puntos a favor:
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is so easy to use, and I have it on all of my machines. Setting it up is so easy that I can recommend it to anyone. It finds what needs to be backed up and automatically transfers it in the background. And, best of all, it does not kill your Internet connection when it is transferring.
Contras:
Absolutely nothing at all. Everything from setup to restoring files works intuitively. I've used a TON of backup programs, and Backblaze is just perfect.
Backblaze Business Backup
Comentarios: Overall Backblaze provides a quailty service at a fair price.
Puntos a favor:
Backblaze was incredibly easy to setup. The first backup was running in less than 30 minutes.
Contras:
On our Mac Mini Yosemite server, the backup of our database files was very difficult to integrate into the backblaze backup due to the files location.
Hands off cloud backup
Comentarios: I love that Backblaze is my fail-safe if something happens to my physical drives and I don't have to do extra work to maintain it. It's always there if and when I need it.
Puntos a favor:
I don't have to do anything and I know all my files on internal and external drives are backed up off-site for peace of mind for me and my clients.
Contras:
It is hard to tell exactly what is currently backed up at any given time when the continuous backup feature is on and using multiple external drives.
Gives me ease of mind regarding all digital documents I use for work and study
Comentarios: Ease of mind! Writing my master's thesis, it's just so good to know that all the work I do is constantly being saved and updated, and I don't have to worry about what will happen if I break/lose my computer. I just can't get into the habit of doing manual backups, and now I don't need to!
Puntos a favor:
- It's so simple to use! There's no fussing around selecting folders to sync, or need to do any manual syncs yourself! It just runs in the background - Getting regular email updates allows me to have an extra sense of security - I think the cost of the service is incredibly reasonable - I love being able to remotely access files. It just makes working while travelling so much easier!
Contras:
Really can't find fault with this service! The only improvement I would suggest is that a push notification for when updates are available would be great (currently, I have to request it to 'check for updates' every no and again), but that's not a massive problem.
