One Stop Place for scraping all sorts of Data

Comentarios: we have been using apify extensively at our organization for the purpose of scraping google maps, social media scraper and custom scrapers and what not.
what is the most fascinating part is rarely it fails that too because of some sort of factor.

The level of control, robustness of the actors and the amazing team at apify ready to help and also the community based section. Also i love that the major actors we use are maintained by apify so we fully trust them to work at all times

Contras:

we discussed this with the product advocate at apify as well, currently there is a feature to queue runs when running through api, for example: if you send 300 request and you have 256gb ram allocation on apify it will limit it to obviously 256 concurrent runs assuming that each run takes up 1gig of ram, which is different for every actor; so in this case the rest of the runs 44 will not run at all they will not queue up you have to wait for the runs to finish so that you can run these separately in the next batch.

Apify enabled us to work on what's important and I love it for it

Comentarios: Apify has been a great business partner to us. The platform has allowed us to quickly develop web scrapers that can bypass anti-bot defences and are scaleable. This saves a lot of work and enables us to focus on the business logic and not on the repetitive tasks around the business logic.

Apify offers a robust platform that streamlines web scraping, making it effortless to scale and navigate anti-bot defences. The documentation is thorough, and the support team is both responsive and knowledgeable. After using it daily for over six months, I can confidently say it integrates seamlessly into any workflow. On Apify, scrapers are referred to as "actors" and are straightforward to implement—especially once you've built a few. After writing two or three, the process becomes intuitive and highly efficient.

Contras:

It's the best out there, so it's hard to talk about the things I don't like. Either way, I'd love to see a couple of features that will save some time if present. I'm glad to say that I've already contacted Apify about them and one is already in their pipeline!

Good Tools, Great Support, and Swift Developer Responses

Comentarios: Overall, my experience has been very positive.

Puntos a favor:

- Trial period with credits to test a few APIs and integrations. The limit was high enough for me to get a good idea of the APIs I want to use and find one that works well for me. - Direct communication with the developers. I had a small issue which was resolved immediately. I also made a suggestion for one more data point to be extracted. It was added in no time, which was fantastic. - Support and Apify tour - the chance to talk to somebody from the team about the platform and for them to recommend sections and features based on your needs and use case. I had a session with Cait. She was brilliant, answered all my questions and suggested functionalities that I hadn't discovered but will definitely make use of going forward. - Swift approval of my application for student discount. Took 2 minutes to get an approval after my application.

Contras:

Can't say that I have anything negative to say do far. If I need to add one, that would be price. I have no direct comparison as I have not tested any alternatives. And since I have no time to search for alternative solutions (dissertation deadline fast approaching) and I am happy with this one so far - I will go with it. During my Apify tour, Cait did suggest that students can apply for Student discount. I wish I had known / applied for it before I had moved on to Starter plan. As a student, I am paying for everything by myself and I can already say that I will need to spend $200+ to get the data that I need.

My favorite part about apify is the proxy management and rotation. Traditionally this is a nightmare for me and I love the completely managed proxy rotation and management.

The pricing is a little bit high. I wish that I could access the pay as you go pricing of actors/proxies without having to pay for a $50/month subscription.

I'm not the most techy person, but I can easily configure their actors with Apify's UI and then copy the input json to make.com to create automated lead gen scrapes. I love this!

Contras:

It can be a little buggy when actors are running and watching the latest actor runs page, but everything catches up and displays correctly once the actors finish. No a big deal.
